Ford Finds Waze to Put Cutting-Edge Navigation in SYNC with Today's Smartphone-Savvy Drivers

Good news for the well-traveled, young and older alike: Ford and the eponymous app company are joining forces. If you're behind the wheel of a new Ford car, truck, or SUV sporting SYNC 3 3.0 or later, you'll now be able to take advantage of community-based navigation via Ford AppLink.

It's a breeze to use it, too. Just plug your iPhone into your Ford vehicle's USB port, and both directions and info on traffic from your Waze app appears right on the touchscreen. Plus, with the latest update, "talk to Waze," you can even take advantage of hands-free functionality, controlling things with simple voice commands. Locating the most efficient routes available from among a range of alternatives, determining where to avail yourself of HOV lanes, comparing pricing on fuel at nearby stations, estimating your arrival time, reporting a traffic incident -- all these and more have become easier than ever. Waze even crowdsources updates so that you can get the most current details on driving conditions, whether accidents or hazards, backed-up areas or route diversions.

The tech-lovers here at our Cadillac, MI Ford dealer are certainly abuzz. After all, functionality like this should dovetail well with SYNC 3 and its other features too numerous to count, such as voice activation, the intuitive user interface, optional 4G LTE WI-Fi, and available Ford+Alexa app compatibility, among others. Of course, that's not to mention Waze's viable alternative to SYNC Navigation, the latter otherwise an option depending on Ford model and trim.

Revving engines to check out the "Go Further" moniker's advanced infotainment systems yourself? You can find them many new and used Ford vehicles, from trucks like the stalwart F-150 light-duty pickup to the Escape compact SUV and Focus sedan and hatchback. And, the best way to do so is firsthand. Visit us here on North Mitchell Street at Fox Ford of Cadillac today, and we'll take you for a tour or the industry's technological forefront.
